Quality Issues - horizontal banding/light lines in prints – one or more nozzles blocked. Press and hold cleaning button for 3 seconds, if still banding try power cleaning (menu-maintenance-power cleaning). If banding is still visible or if it returns every few prints, contact service.

EPSON Error Codes

 

MAINTENANCE REQ 0040 - Cleaning unit is nearing the end of life. This error will appear when 2% remains on the counter. Printing will still be possible, although the maintenance kit will need replacing. To arrange an engineering visit, click here

 

MAINTENANCE REQ 0002 - Carriage motor is nearing the end of life. This error will appear when 2% remains on the counter . Printing will still be possible, although the CR motor will need replacing. To arrange an engineering visit, click here

 

SERVICE CALL 0001002D - May also be displayed as SERVICE REQ 0001002D on older printers - Cleaning unit has reached end of life.  This appears if the Maintenance Req 0040 has not been resolved.  Printing is not possible until the maintenance kit has been replaced. SERVICE CALL 00000100 - May also be displayed as SERVICE REQ 00000100 on older printers - Waste ink tank full. This error occurs when the counter for the maintenance kit reaches end of life. Printing is not possible until the maintenance kit has been replaced. To arrange an engineering visit, click here

 

SERVICE CALL 00000101 - May also be also displayed as SERVICE REQ 00000101 on older printers - Carriage motor has reached end of life. This appears if the Maintenance Req 0002 has not been resolved.  Printing is not possible until the carriage motor has been replaced. To arrange an engineering visit, press here

 

SERVICE CALL 00010005 - May also be displayed as SERVICE REQ 00010005 on older printers - CR motor out of step. This error occurs when the timing of the carriage movement is interupted. The most common cause is a failure of the CR motor. Another, less common, cause is when the cutter cap breaks causing the head to become jammed. In this case the cutter cap will need replacing.

 

SERVICE CALL 00010014 - May also be displayed as SERVICE REQ 00010014 on older printers - Ink system pressure error. The most common cause is a failure of the Pump assy., although, If you find that this error has occurred after a new cartridge has been fitted, you can try reinstalling the old one.
